GRA Affiliated Chapters

Pursuant to Article V of The Government Relations Association (GRA) bylaws, we want to help organize affiliated chapters at both the U.S. state level and international levels

ROLE OF CHAPTERS

The role of chapters is to disseminate and amplify information about the government relations profession writ large to grow the GRA brand locally and globally. You will help us play an important advocacy role in carrying out our mission and values. Following established best practices, we invite you to host events and programming, to network and share ideas with others in the profession, and help educate the public on the contributions, value, and vital role the profession plays throughout democratic societies.

HOW TO FORM A CHAPTER

To become a recognized chapter, follow these steps:

  • Contact GRA and express your willingness and commitment to form a chapter.
  • Recruit fellow professionals to join the chapter and hold elections for a Board of Directors and Executive Committee officers, including chapter President, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary.
  • Agree to adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct in the performance of their professional career.
  • Incorporate as a local chapter affiliate of GRA through your appropriate jurisdiction who recognizes and approves nonprofit organizations.
  • Enter into a 30% revenue sharing agreement with GRA when memberships are sold. Members who join GRA via an established affiliated chapter will enjoy all afforded benefits of national GRA membership as well as your local benefits.

BENEFITS OF BECOMING A CHAPTER

It takes a village. By better connecting the world of government relations across diverse jurisdictions, we collectively become a stronger profession. You can expect the following:

  • A commitment to sharing each other's successes through common directions and pursuits.
  • Opportunities for sharing best practices and obtaining professional development.
  • Serve on our select Professional and Future Leaders Committee to help shape objectives and priorities. Note: As chapters proliferate and mature, we anticipate creating a standing Chapter Outreach Committee and a chair who will serve as a point person for continued dialogue and deeper coordination with you.
  • Complimentary insurance coverage for the first year for all directors and officers.
  • Select invitations to attend GRA networking and programming events.
  • Assistance in marketing your events using our communications platforms.
  • Grow your networks on a much broader scale.
