The Government Relations Association (GRA), the fastest growing association representing the lobbying, GR, fundraising, grassroots practitioner and public policy advocacy community, is privileged to announce the 103rd "Meet the Member" event in our popular series. Please join us when we host Cong. Nick LaLota (NY-01) on Monday April 15th at 12:00 noon for a lively luncheon discussion.

Cong. Nick LaLota graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, entered the Navy and attained the rank of Lieutenant, serving overseas in 3 separate tours as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO).  After his Navy career, he obtained his MBA from Hofstra Univ., and a JD from Hofstra's Deane School of Law.  He continued his public service upon being appointed to the Amityville Board of Trustees.  Subsequent roles included chairman of the Committee to the Police Department, and Chief of Staff to the Suffolk County legislature.  He went on to serve as the Commissioner of the Suffolk County Board of Elections, and later as Chief of Staff to a NY State Senator.   
In 2022, he was elected to the US Congress and sworn in on January 2023 to represent New York's 1st district.

He currently serves on the key committees of:

House Homeland Security,
House Small Business
