Cong Yakym is a 4th generation Hoosier who earned his bachelor's degree in business finance & administration from the Indiana University South Bend.  He later went on to earn his Executive MBA in 2019 from Notre Dame.  After graduation he held various positions in sales, real estate, and served as director of Growth Initiatives at Kem Krest, a company specializing in the dynamics of private sector logistics and supply chain.  In 2011-2012 he served as the finance director for Cong. Jackie Walorski's campaign (whose seat he now holds), and in 2015 he was nominated by then Gov. Mike Pence to serve as a member of the Indiana Judicial Nominating Commission.

He currently serves on the key committees of:
House Budget
House Transportation & Infrastructure.
